Bathroom makeover: Calm waters

Luxurious textures and a neutral colour palette give this striking bathroom elegant appeal

Neutrals are hard to beat in a bathroom – they work well with white sanitaryware, and help to exude a sense of tranquillity. A neutral palette also offers the opportunity to play with textures, as shown here in this Sydney ensuite. A chunky 100mm Caesarstone vanity benchtop in Snow introduces a smooth surface to up the luxe factor and contrast with the more textured flavour of the sandstone-effect vitrified porcelain floor and feature wall tiles.

The clever layout maximises space in what is quite a narrow room, with the deep bath positioned under the window and raised on a plinth. A nook by the bath, displaying an ornate candleholder from ING Homewares, adds a pretty finishing touch.

A generous walk-in shower, opposite, separated only by a single glass shower screen, utilises the full width of the area. The wall-mounted toilet is incorporated into and partially screened by the vanity, freeing up the area around the shower.
