It was with great delight we learned more about what makes Sally Obermeder tick when she’s not in front of the TV cameras.

“Maha [pictured above, on left] is the co-author of [healthy eating cookbook] The Good Life. We wrote this and Super Green Smoothies together. She’s a big part of my life. We have a very honest relationship and, like sisters, we do drive each other crazy! But at the end of the day, we have each other’s back and we’re each other’s number-one fan.”

“Since my sister Maha and I launched our online store on my blog [swiish.com], silver trays in different sizes have been one of our staples. This is our ‘Bentley’ tray. It’s available in two sizes: I love them so much, I have both at home. Sometimes I’ll use one as a fruit bowl, or I’ll laden it with candles, and sometimes it’s used for drinks. Versatile!”

“On the wall in the entrance to my home are some of my favourite photos. These are the first thing I see when I come in and the last thing I see as I go out. They’re so important to me. I have a rule: as I walk out, I always turn and look at the people I love, the people who are my everything. When I walk in, it’s always, like, ‘Yep, I’m home.’  ”

“I’ve been lusting after this Harpers Project marble-topped table for a while. I’m completely in love with it. It’s modern, fresh and fits my space perfectly, and is still big enough to sit eight people when I’m entertaining. I’m always looking for backgrounds for food shots, and this is a great table for Instagram vignettes!”

“These are just a few of my fashion books – there are plenty more! For me, they’re one of life’s mindless pleasures. I’ll sit down with a cup of tea and lose myself in one. Sometimes, on a rainy Sunday, I’ll curl up on the couch with [daughter] Annabelle while
she’s watching a movie. I’ll be half-watching with her while also escaping into another world.”

“My sister Maha and I love homewares. The ethos for our online store is luxe for less. We work hard to find beautiful pieces that don’t cost the earth”
