The Makers and Shakers Market is an indoor, curated event that brings together people who care about where things come from, how things are made and what they are made of.

This weekend Marrickville sees over xx stallholder bring pop culture, home cooking, flowers, jewellery, ceramics, fab food and great coffee – well it’s in Marrickville, after all!

 

Where: Marrickville Town Hall, Marrickville Road, Marrickville NSW

When: Saturday 1st April, 10am-3pm

Why: One day only!

What else: Entry is $2 and kids under 12 are free

2. OLIVE TREE MARKET

The Olive Tree Market is the Leading Contemporary Handmade Art & Design Market in Newcastle and the launching pad for over 150 creative minds!

3. LOUISE OLSEN & STEPHEN ORMANDY: THE ART OF DINOSAUR DESIGNS

Where: Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and Arts Centre, 782 Kingsway, Gymea NSW

When: 1 April – 14 May 2017 Daily from 10am – 5pm – Free admission

Why: To see iconic design up close and personal

What else: Because art is everything

 

“The exhibition is a colourful fusion of art, design and fashion, referencing Olsen and Ormandy’s iconic design label Dinosaur Designs and exploring in a gallery context the artful and aesthetic prevalent throughout their work.”

“A highlight of the show is an iconic set of life-sized totems in the artists’ signature resin. Originally developed for London Design Week 2016, the collection includes two new totems created specifically for the Hazelhurst exhibition.” Hazelhurst Regional Gallery
