Pattern plays an important role in this trend, with a mix of tactile materials and a palette drawn from the desert. Oversized tropical foliage offers a hint of the wild, while classic pieces introduce a refined elegance.

Woven silhouettes, monochrome animal prints and floating sheers bring this colonial vibe into the present day. Subtle pattern as a backdrop gives the impression of faded grandeur. “Open the doors and let in the outdoors with breathable linen and natural wallcoverings,” HB creative director Imogene Abady.
