“I often refer to the Samantha Wills brand as bohemian luxe, and I think that really relates to how I style my interiors,” says Samantha. “I like the concept of putting masses of flowers next to something quite raw and rough and almost ugly to look at, and to me, that juxtaposition is bohemian luxe. I love my peacock chair – peacocks have become an unintentional brand signature.”

“The smaller artwork on the mantlepiece is by artist Kelly Smith. I stalked her on Twitter because I was such a fan, and when we launched our first stationery line I asked her to do the illustrations. Every time we commission a work for the brand, she kindly gives me the original. The big artwork in the centre is by Kelly Thompson, which has a similar aesthetic. And then that’s a photo of my mum in the ’70s on Lord Howe Island. She’s such a babe!”

“Turquoise is the only colour that I inject into my home, and I particularly love it in ceramics. I love the peacock vase on the deck because it’s kind of Deco, kind of ’70s – it can sit across a couple of styles, which I like. My interior has evolved over the last few years but very much has its design roots in my bohemian origins; I grew up on the beach in Port Macquarie. Anything too structured is not really who I am. I like a more free-flowing, surf-inspired aesthetic.”

“The Mario Testino fashion photograph was a gift – I’m a huge Kate Moss fan. With the surfboard in the background, it really brings together high fashion and the beach, which are both very prevalent in my life.”

“The mirror hung on the wall in my last apartment. Now it sits on an ottoman I’ve transformed into a coffee table. It’s an ever-evolving installation, depending on what books I’m reading and what inspires me. The rock was a birthday gift- it’s composed of the same minerals that make fireworks. I like that it’s quite ugly on its own, but can become something so beautiful and incredible.”
