A stunning villa in San Casciano in Val di Pesa south of Florence, Italy is said to have been designed by young Michelangelo, the Florentine artist, sculptor, architect and poet of the Renaissance period. The elegant estate sits on 44 acres of land, including the main villa which has 16 bedrooms, a chapel, four private apartments, outbuildings, a pool and 20 acres of vineyards and 25 acres of olive groves.

The homeowner has documents suggesting Michelangelo was the designer. Inside, many of the rooms still have their original terracotta tiled floors and are richly decorated with 17th- and 18th-century floor-to-ceiling frescoes.

From the gardens, there is a stunning view of Brunelleschi’s Duomo in Florence. Chianti, the region the estate is located in, is famous for its wine, so of course, the villa has an expansive cellar.
