This Sydney home exudes tranquillity and serenity thanks to the stunning furniture, calming colour scheme, well-planned layout and greenery-shrouded location – the two-storey residence is nestled behind a tall privacy wall with direct access to a native reserve, allowing statuesque gum trees from the park to shade the home’s substantial outdoor entertaining area.
Entertaining area
The open-plan living area has a natural connection to the spacious courtyard thanks to a wall of sliding glass doors. The modular seating unit is from Camerich’s ‘Lazy Time’ collection. Adorning the sofa are black and white ‘Temple Door’ cushions from No Chintz and a cosy ‘Charles’ throw from Laura Ashley.
Reading room
A pair of sophisticated yet comfortable black armchairs (for similar, try Camerich), topped with cushions from Linen House, create a cosy corner. Tucked away shelving hides much-loved mementos while other treasures are on full display, like the reindeer hide from Sydney’s Becker Minty.
Master bedroom
Filled with natural light during the day, the main bedroom is a comfortable retreat for parents. Framed by tall, gnarly gum trees, the windows have external blinds for privacy. The tones of the leather armchair and side tables are echoed in the feature wall’s chocolate-brown suede. Neutral bedlinen designed by Auckland-based Katie Collis of Thread Design was chosen to complement the darker hues, which are punctuated by patterned cushions from No Chintz and a dove grey throw from Laura Ashley.
Ensuite
A pitched roofline allows abundant light into the minimalist ensuite, while a floor-to-ceiling mirrored wall visually doubles the size of the room.
Kitchen
The minimalist kitchen is easy to clean thanks to the storage-friendly floor-to-ceiling cupboards, stainless-steel benchtop and integrated appliances. All the cupboards include electrical outlets, so small appliances can be used without cluttering the benchtop.
Living room
Understated chic is the order of the day in the living area; for a similar ottoman try One Rundle Trading Co. Stylish silver champagne bucks are used to display flowers.
