Bavaria is probably best known as the German state that hosts the Oktoberfest each year. And while the world’s largest beer festival is certainly worth a visit, Bavaria and its historic capital Munich have a lot more to offer than beer-fueled escapades. If you happen to be in the German south, make sure you visit some (if not all) of its stunning castles, royal residences and regal holiday homes.
