Whether you’re looking to move or are just after a little purchase reinforcement after investing your life savings, here are the best suburbs to live in Australia, according to experts.

Following a survey conducted by Rent, resulting in over 57,000 reviews of Australia’s individual suburbs, renters rated their suburb for a range of features – whether it’s good for families, close to the CBD, accessible for public transport, good cafes and restaurants and so on. As a result, the best suburbs in Australia for families and singles have been named as part of a wider list, divided into groups to suit different lifestyles.

For example, in New South Wales, Wahroonga, 22km north-west of Sydney, has been named as the best suburb for families, while the inner-city Surry Hills is best for singles. In Victoria, north-west Aberfeldie is best for families and inner-east Collingwood for singles.

This reveals an overall picture into liveability in Australian suburbs, with other categories listed for those suburbs ideal for a quiet- or conversely, vibrant lifestyle. The list provides a useful tool for prospective renters and homeowners with a better idea of what suburb will fit their needs.
