And here they are – the winning room and some of our stunning finalist rooms from this year’s Home Beautiful, with Temple & Webster, 50 Beautiful Rooms competition! Each year we are wowed by your decorating chops, and this year didn’t disappoint. For 2017, the blue ribbon went to Sydney homeowner Mei who also nabbed $5000 in prize money, while our 14 finalists each won a $500 Temple & Webster gift voucher.
“This room represents our life,” says one-time architect Mei, who with her individual style won over our judges with her winning room (above). “She has a great sense of style and has put it all together beautifully,” says HB editor Sarah Burman. It’s hard to pick our favourite piece – there are so many – but we love the way Mei has repurposed her son’s bassinet into a storage spot for throws and cushions.

Individual style shone in every entry in our Beautiful Rooms competition, which made choosing our top 15 rooms a very big task. “Every year we are overwhelmed by the high calibre of entries that inspires the whole HB team,” says Home Beautiful editor and Beautiful Rooms judge Sarah. “Our winning room and finalist rooms are always the style heart our 50 Beautiful Rooms special edition.”
