Bunnings might just have solved all of your home renovation problems.

If you’re all about the DIY, until you get everything home and realise you’ve got no skills yourself and no little black book of local tradies to call for help, take heart – you’re not alone.

Recent research found that a whopping 62% of consumers are seeking access to tradies on-demand, fueling the growth of “do-it-for-me” over DIY.

In response to this trend and after careful research into the pain points for both consumers and tradies, the hardware giant and on-demand tradie platform hipages ran a successful trial in June this year of an initial partnership, and is now expanding the service to provide fixed price product and installation packages for some of the most popular home improvements.

Starting today, the extended offering will be available across the Bunnings national network, providing a complete service solution for homeowners for installation of:

  • bathroom heating lights
  • toilet suites
  • ceiling fans
  • mixer taps

These are an extension to Bunnings’ existing offer of:

  • air conditioner installations
  • door and hot water installations
  • barbecue assembly
  • playground assembly

Pre-pay via an in-store voucher, then connect with a qualified, licensed, local and available tradie within minutes.

Customers purchasing one of four packages available will be provided with on-demand access to local hipages tradies who they can book to install the item, all for a fixed price, starting from $150 including GST.

“Our focus is on making home improvement as easy and affordable as possible for customers,” says Debbie Poole, Bunnings Chief Operating Officer.

This affordable solution means you can not only have your new toilet installed at a fixed price, the collaborators are also trialling an additional ‘Get Quotes’ service for larger home improvement jobs including kitchen installations and painting.

“The additional services provide more options for customers and makes connecting with local experts even easier, particularly when a licensed tradesperson is required.”

“We are thrilled to extend our existing services with Bunnings,” says Roby Sharon-Zipser, Co-CEO and Founder, hipages. “The initial fixed fee toilet purchase and installation service has been a huge success. Available plumbers are claiming these job requests from Bunnings customers within 44 seconds, on average.”

“Not only is the service convenient for customers, it also offers total cost transparency.”

With their research showing that 45% of Australian consumers find unforeseen and unexpected costs a major pain point when engaging tradies, this nationwide service will provide instant access to over 135,000 verified, licensed and qualified tradies and should go a long way to helping get things done around the house.

“In today’s on-demand age, Australians are seeking convenience in all areas of their life, including easier, more optimised ways of engaging quality tradies from their smartphones or laptops,”
