It’s an idea so simple; we’re kicking ourselves we didn’t think of it.
Victorian entrepreneur Jake McKeon is making headlines for his eco-friendly Coconut Bowls.
“Every year billions of coconut shells are discarded and burned as waste,” Jake told the judges on a recent episode of Shark Tank. “We reclaim these shells and turn them into these beautiful bowls that people love eating from.”
Jake said he came up with the idea while on holiday in Bali and the rest is history.
According to the website, “Each coconut is cut, sanded and cleaned before being finished with an organic coconut oil polish.”
The bowls can be used hundreds of times and are biodegradable.
With over 274,000 followers on Instagram, it’s safe to say Coconut Bowls are a hit.
“What a perfect bowl,” one person wrote in the comments on social media.
Another added: “I’m in love with these bowls.”
