New Zealand florist Holly Tong and Icelandic photographer Runa Kuru have teamed up to create their first collection of limited edition dark and moody photographs of their beloved blooms. The joint venture “blossomed quite naturally” from the duo, with Runa’s eye for dreamy images and Holly’s floral flair. Printed onto German photo rag paper, these richly colourful artworks combine a mixture of robust Australian native blooms with traditional, softer English country garden varieties and are reminiscent of the Golden Age of Dutch paintings in their moody tones and sharp detail. The compositions illuminate the contrast of the dark, moody colours against the light, bright petals.

“These artworks would make either a dark, moody moment in a light room, or work beautifully as part of a dark colour scheme.”
