Hamptons-meets-modern bathroom

This bright and beautiful bathroom provides a happy marriage of form and function

A sumptuous, sculptural freestanding tub was the starting point for this bright and lovely Melbourne bathroom –  the Kado ‘Arc’ bath from Reece, to be exact. It is just one of the glamorous features in this made-for-pampering zone – a serene and light-filled sanctuary that truly highlights the room’s stunning arched window. GIA Bathrooms & Kitchens were the experts behind the room’s transformation, gutting the fittings and reconfiguring the floor plan, with a new shower and toilet tucked away behind a screen of frosted glass.

Custom-made Shaker-style cabinetry paired with dome-shaped ‘D369’ polished chrome handles from Kethy ensure ample storage in the vanity unit. “The doors and handles work really well with the Hamptons feel of the ensuite,” says Carmel of GIA Bathrooms and Kitchens, who opted for roomy Caroma ‘Pearl’ semi-inset basins, teamed with Sussex ‘Scala’ wall-mounted mixers, both from Reece. A  Hydrotherm ‘Milan’ floor-to-ceiling heated towel rail from Reece looks anything but clinical, and results in toasty towels time after time.

“If you have the space, and you and your partner share a similar daily routine, two basins are a good idea.” – Carmel, GIA Bathrooms and Kitchens

A timeless mix of white cabinetry, the palest of grey ‘One Gesso’ porcelain tiles from GIA Bathrooms & Kitchens and white-grey marble benchtops sets a stylish, luxurious scene. Downlight illumination is supplemented by a trio of grey concrete ‘Earth’ pendants from About Space.
