When decorating their renovated home in Melbourne's inner south, Suzanne and Rob included some striking pieces of art.
“We were excited to discover the house once belonged to a milliner during the Second World War, whose hat factory was right next door," says Suzanne. "We found a massive metal sign from the factory – ‘Georgina Hats’ – and we love that it has that history.”
Having “stumbled upon” collecting contemporary Australian art many years back, it's now a must have for decorating each room and the scene-stealing oversized canvas in the dining room – an early work by notable Melbourne artist Rowena Martinich – is now one of their most prized pieces.
“We hunted Rowena down at an art show,” says Suzanne. “It was the first piece of art we bought.”
