Our favourite renovating show House Rules is back for a sixth season this year, with some new surprises in the mix - bound to shake things up.
Larger-than-life British personality Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen will join the judging panel once again in 2018, bringing us more lairy suits and plenty of outspoken opinions.
Known for designs as colourful as his character, Laurence has over three decades of experience in the field of interiors and an innate instinct for interior trends, honed during many years working as a Homestyle consultant and his appearances on UK TV show Changing Rooms.
But when it comes to the show he says he’s not afraid to play the bad cop, as we saw in Season 5 of House Rules. “I’m incredibly passionate about encouraging Australians to discover the potential within their own home. I do have a reputation for being quite tough... and that's putting it mildly.”
Wendy says he’s a master of colour and pattern, “with the benefit of being endlessly entertaining,” she adds.
In quite the juxtaposition, award winning Australian architect and builder Drew Heath is another new addition, recognised for his organic handmade and handcrafted building designs and his ability to create a sense of well-being and calm within the home.
Season 5 saw Drew and LLB clash more than once over what constitutes good design. “Professionally they both bring completely different skills to the show … Drew has a natural simplicity to his design and the added skill of building expertise,” Wendy explains.
"There has quite a bit of disagreement between us all - it hasn't escalated to fisticuffs yet - but there's still time!”Wendy Moore
As for being out-dressed by her co-stars, Wendy’s already admitted defeat. “I resigned myself quite early to the fact that Laurence will, without fail, always outdo me in the fashion department… His cufflinks collection alone inspires awe!”
The three judges are joined once again by the lovely Johanna Griggs as host.
We can’t wait!
