Ingredients

You’ll Need:

Method

1.

Mark Shapes

Using a ruler and pen, mark the balsa wood in the shapes and sizes you want your gift tags.

2.

Cut

Using scissors or a Stanley knife, cut the balsa wood to your markings.

3.

Tape

Tape the bottom third of the gift tag with painter’s tape.

4.

Paint

Spray the blackboard paint onto the balsa wood. Remember to hold the spray can approx. 15cm from the surface for an even coverage. Leave to dry.

5.

Tape

Once the blackboard paint is completely dry, remove the original tape and tape over the blackboard paint.

6.

Paint

Using a bright colour of your choice, spray paint the remaining balsa wood. Once dry, remove all the painters tape.

7.

Make Twine Hole

Using a Stanley knife, cut a small square in the balsa wood where you will thread the twine to hang your gift tag. Thread the twine and knot.

8.

Decorate

Decorate your gift tags using chalk.
