We’ve established that bringing plants into your home improves the quality of your life. It doesn’t hurt in the interior style stakes either and homeowners are embracing the growing indoor plant trend with abandon – with everything from the fiddle leaf fig to tiny succulents.
Working with researchers from RMIT University and the University of Melbourne, the creators of Plant Life Balance app have tapped into the two biggest benefits of having plants in our home – air quality and wellbeing.
The app has been designed to help fill your home with the good green stuff, with suggestions of plant types, styling templates and tips for the care and treatment of your plants, courtesy of The Plant Hunter’s font of knowledge, Georgina Reid – all for you to get the best out of your plants and therefore, out of life.
The app has 4 essential functions:
- Rate your space – for plant-loving potential
- Choose your plants – from a downloadable list of over 100 suggestions
- Style your room – for your ideal aesthetic from selection of seasonal looks
- Move your plants – shift and resize plants in your space until you’re happy with the result
The extensive downloadable plant list is handy to carry keep handy on your trips to the nursery or local farmers’ market, with clear images of each plant with its common name and a short profile.
Choose a decorating to reflect your own passions, be it cottage garden dreamy; dark moody and sculptural, French provincial or therapeutic and fragrant, there’s something for every taste. There’s even a list of suggestions for how to make the combined plant collections of a share house work cohesively.
