All the materials were purchased from Bunnings, Kmart and Ikea and the entire project came in at around $3000.
"Shop around your local stores for budget friendly ideas and jump online to gain some inspiration from others, and tweak it to your preference," Tamara says.
"Don't be afraid of a little DIY job - not only is it satisfying to complete your own project, but it will also save you money in the long run."
"My son loves to be outdoors and in the fresh air. We needed a space where he felt comfortable, safe and had nothing short of endless fun," Tamara says.
"He really enjoys the kitchen/cafe style set up in the cubby house. A lot of hours spent role playing with his friends.
"The look on his sweet little face was priceless - the best birthday gift ever!"
