Maker's month: Meet fibre artist Sky Carter
Fibre artist Sky Carter turned her world upside down to follow a colourful innovative path
Living her creative dream, Sky Carter of Sky Carter Colour has been running her own business for the past five years. Sky is a fibre and textile artist and can often be found at her bamboo loom creating textural pieces of art. Based in Sydney's inner west, she happily spends her days in her studio transforming single threads into stunning wall hangings.
Asked why she chose this profession Sky explains: "I need to express myself creatively to be a sane person and to help me process experiences that I've had in my life."
