Megan Gale’s lovely range of bedlinen for Target (pictured) was released last spring. “Over the years, I’ve been really lucky to travel all around the world with my career. I always made time to walk around and sightsee, and take in as much of the culture as I could. I have so many memories of places and I wanted to translate those into homewares. It was about creating a balanced collection that was luxurious and sophisticated but also affordable without compromising on quality.”

“I’m a little bit of a perfume addict. I have many different scents but I particularly love Diptyque perfumes and candles. They do beautiful home fragrances, too. They’re not overpowering yet really resonate with you. There’s something for every season, every occasion. I’d love to create a perfume one day. It’s one of my secret dreams!”

“I got this Alexander Wang bag and these Giuseppe Zanotti boots on the same day in New York in 2013. I was going through a phase where I was really obsessed with everything black and white and that kind of speckled texture. As colourful as New York is energy wise, the city makes me think of things that are quite classic and a little bit contemporary but always with an edge.”

“I always have fresh flowers in the house. They make me happy. Roses are stunning – so classic. The best roses I’ve seen were at the Hôtel Costes in Paris, which has a florist shop that only sells roses. It has every variety and colour you could imagine! My son, River [two], also loves flowers – he’s always smelling and pointing to them. One of his first words was ‘wowers’ as he couldn’t quite get his mouth around the word ‘flowers’.”

“This clutch is one of my favourite pieces. It was a bit of an indulgent present to myself when I was in France with L’Oréal Paris two years ago. We were there for the Cannes Film Festival and there was a 48-hour stopover in Paris, but I managed to find time to go shopping! I don’t splurge on things a lot but I loved the pastel shade and how delicate and simple it was. It’s one of those pieces I thought would be in my wardrobe forever. It’s timeless, it’s classic, which is very much my style.”

“Vue de Monde in Melbourne is my favourite restaurant. We went there for my boyfriend’s [Shaun Hampson] birthday … absolutely spectacular. We’re quite ‘foodie’ and we absolutely love cooking together. That’s how we unwind and catch up with each other.”
