Designed to make every day more playful, the new range dropping at IKEA in February is all about colour blocking, simplicity in shapes and experimenting with materials.
The range speaks to flexibility in the home and includes a fun and funky mix-and-match modular sofa KUNGSHAMN, from $230, designed by Mikael Axelsson who says “I wanted to make a sofa that reflects how we live today, with quick changes and homes which are flexible yet often small.” Covers come in three different colours – plain pink, beige or pink diamond.
“The modules make it possible to create the exact sofa combination you want ‒ and it’s possible to change it when needed.”Mikael Axelsson
We love the GRANBODA nest of side tables, $89, the smallest of which serves double duty as a tray, or drawer-like hidey hole when the 3 tables are drawn together. The BURVIK side table, $29.99 has a handle as part of the design, encouraging you to move it around the home for maximum flexibility. Choose your colour from Black, Red and White with birch.
The textured black and white JOHANNE cushion cover, $14.99, is made from 100% natural ramie, “That saves water and use of chemicals in the dye process.”
For the home office comes the HÄLLAN cabinet, from $60, a modular building block of a metal cabinet that you can configure to your own requirements – stack, arrange side-by-side or add legs and a lock if you like. The metal surface makes it magnet friendly and recyclable at the end of its life.
There is also a new range of baby furniture SOGUL in the mix, including a cot, wardrobe and changing table that can be converted into a bookcase down the track as you child grows.
The KRUSTAD dinnerware, from $3.99, comes in an on-trend textured light grey finish with a delicate relief pattern and, just in time for tea, the gorgeous FÖRÄDLA serving stand, $29.99, combines white porcelain and brass in a tiered set that can be built up to your desired height and arranged as you like. Sweet.
The range will hit Australian IKEA stores from the first week of February and be online at the same time. Check your local store for details or visit ikea.com.
