From Scandinavian-style to mid-century modern, round-shaped homewares and furniture have taken off in the design world.

According to Pinterest, searches on “round décor” have increased by 135 per cent, while “round furniture” has increased by 100 per cent over the past month in Australia.

Introduce the style trend into your own home with a statement mirror, or get the wow factor with a striking coffee table.

Here are six round design ideas to get you started:

1. Light fittings

Make a style statement with an eye-catching design, or keep an eye out for affordable options like this black pendant light from Beacon.

2. Mirrors

An over-sized round mirror makes the perfect addition to a console in a hallway, or above a table in the bedroom.

3. Bar carts

Introduce an element of sophistication into your living room with a decorative (and practical) bar cart.

4. Seating

A plush banquette makes a luxe statement, but you can also channel the look in your own home with a round ottoman.

5. Storage

Round wall shelves don’t only look great, they’re perfect for adding an extra storage element. Get the look with affordable shelves at Kmart.

6. Coffee tables

A round coffee table is an easy style fix in most living rooms, as the organic shape softens lines and adds interest.
