One of the world’s most iconic designs has been given a surprising new look, thanks to a limited edition collaboration with a legendary cartoon character.
To celebrate its 70th anniversary, designer fridge brand Smeg has announced a collaboration with Disney at the London Design Festival 2018.
Smeg’s iconic FAB28 refrigerator has been adorned with a ‘True Original’ bespoke drawing of Disney’s most iconic and much-loved character.
The collaboration also marks Mickey Mouse’s 90th anniversary, and he’s portrayed cheekily reaching for the fridge handle.
The collaboration is a true limited edition with only 90 of the fridges being produced – one for each of Mickey’s 90 years. Each appliance carries a limited edition silver plaque signifying its unique production number.
Smeg’s FAB28 refrigerator, with its soft curves and ‘50s-inspired design, is Smeg’s most widely-recognised appliance and acclaimed as a global design icon.
Sadly, the limited edition Smeg Disney Mickey Mouse FAB28RDMM3 fridge is only available from Smeg’s flagship store in St James, London. A nice souvenir to pick up on your next trip, perhaps?
