1. EGYPTIAN COTTON
Egyptian cotton is an obvious choice for a summer-friendly bed, but don't get too caught up on the high thread count. “The fabric is woven from long staple fibers, which means they are softer to touch and more breathable in warmer weather – we’ve paired it in a 350 thread count sateen weave which allows enough room for the air to pass through which avoids that stuffy feeling at night,” says The Sheet Society Founder Hayley Worley. The higher you go, the less chance the air has to escape.
Our pick: The Sheet Society’s Egyptian cotton sheet set, from $155
2. BAMBOO LYOCELL
Ettitude’s sheets aren’t just traditional bamboo sheets, they are Bamboo Lyocell which means there are no harmful chemicals and a lot less water used in the manufacturing process. “The natural bamboo fibres are extremely breathable and thermo-regulating so they keep you cool in summer. They also wick away night sweat quickly so you will stay cool and fresh all night,” says Jess Pang, Ettitude’s Head of Marketing.
Our pick: Ettitude’s bamboo daydream flat sheet, from $85

Microfibre sheets are known for their moisture-wicking properties which make them a great choice for those hot and humid nights. “Sheets made from microfibre are also super easy to care for and wash well, keeping your time in the laundry to a minimum when you would rather be out enjoying the warm weather," says Temple & Webster Stylist, Allira Bell. The best part? How affordable they are!
