Meg Ryan has completely transformed her three-bedroom, three-bathroom loft in New York’s trendy Soho neighbourhood. Previously owned by Hank Azaria of The Simpsons, the converted warehouse used to be a bachelor pad complete with 70s shag carpeting and a massive gym. Meg enlarged the kitchen, resized bathrooms, turned the master bedroom into a dining room and created a new master suite. With dark hues, contrasting textures and 3.6-metre ceilings, the space is a lesson in beautiful design and style.

Living room

A large rug anchors the living room and provides soft flooring underfoot. A medley of neutrals creates a calming atmosphere and the long, deep sofas are perfect for relaxing in.

Bathroom

In the luxurious bathroom, subway tiles on the walls contrast with retro tiles on the floor and create a sense of timeless glamour. The walk-in shower is sectioned off with a stylish folding door and the room’s sharp angles are softened by the circular mirror and traditional basin. The room is lit by a single industrial-style bare bulb.

Kitchen

Here, the original narrow-board wood floors were refinished with an ebony stain while the cabinetry and walls were painted in white. The style of finishes brings a Hamptons aesthetic to the room while the long dining table helps to warm the space.
