The hottest interiors colours to look out for in 2018

Our interiors are coming up roses and we couldn’t be happier!

Our favourite shade of pink isn’t going anywhere soon and we’re delighted to find new ways to include it in our interiors. Call is rose gold, dusty or Millennial – either way it’s here to stay!

We spoke to Kristy Withers, Founder and Designer of Incy Interiors about some new ways to work with this captivating colour.

“Warm metals like copper, brass and rose gold will continue to take the throne this year”

Back to the future

“This year we will also see a throwback to the modernist trends of the 1950s,” says Kristy, “Which gives a nod to 1950s Hollywood glamour, and favours curved shaped silhouettes.” Look to furnishings with restrained, simple lines and elements of Art Deco to the design.

Velvet

“This season will command royal treatment and its own definitive sense of chic,” says Kristy. “Decorative velvet throws, quilts and cushions are a few of the simplest ways to bring a little grandeur to a bedroom, but nothing beats a statement settee or master bedhead. We love the Sybilla settee – its soft pink shade helps to balance out the heavy weight of the velvet fabrication.”

Natural

“For a natural take on colour, simplicity and lightness are at the forefront of design with natural and whitewash tones taking the lead. Blushes and neutral or stone colours are essential as a base to work around and will automatically give any room a soft and natural lift.”

“A neutral colour palette is the key to a great child’s room because you can subtly or dramatically change the room by adding pops of colour and experiment with playful accessories like bed linen, cushions, throws and bedlinens.”

Be bold!

“Colour is back in 2018!”

“It is the optimum way to add a personal flare to a room or bed,” Kristy suggests. “A bold colour or print is the best way to complement the perfect neutral wall colour or bedlinen.”
