Walk inside this Manhattan apartment, past the Picasso hanging in the entryway, and you would expect to find Charlotte York arranging flowers on the hall table. The setting transports us to a real-life Sex and the City experience.

Luxury interior designer Lisa Melone Cloughen has renovated this fabulous apartment on Manhattan’s Park Avenue for a couple who are both music aficionados and art collectors.

The couple’s brief was to include sophisticated touches and a neutral palette and Melone Cloughen revamped the entire apartment, a pre-war landmark building, giving the home a luxurious atmosphere with subtle custom finishes of marble benchtops and flooring (custom cut from slabs on site) and glass. Silver leaf lines the new ceiling in the elliptical entrance hall and luxury wool and silk rugs bring warmth and comfort underfoot.

The building was gutted to make spaces to display the couple’s art collection and elegant furnishings, including a Paul Ferrante Cossette chandelier and décor items collected in their travels.

So very cosmopolitan. Just add Carrie Bradshaw and shake with ice.
