Three statement wall designs to add some wow to your living room

Add some punch to your space with a show-stopping feature wall

A bold splash of paint is an easy way to update a bland wall, but if you’re looking for a permanent way to add character to your home, a feature wall may just be the ticket. Here’s what you need to know about bricks, tiles and wooden feature walls.

Bricks

Channel the look of a New York loft by leaving brick walls exposed. For a more polished look opt for glazed bricks. Austral Bricks Burlesque range are lusciously bright and come in a range of colours, from Majestic Grey to Charming Black and a punchy Smashing Blue. Use them as a feature wall or to accentuate architectural highlights. For a subtle but no less impressive look, brick around windows or fireplaces to create a focal point.

Tiles

Not only for wet areas, tiles set an impressive scene in your living room too. Stone-look tiles are an easy way to create rustic charm while adding textural interest. If you’re looking to create a more elegant space, we love the look of tiled wall-niches using shimmering mosaics. Matte tiles are better suited to a living room as they have a more natural look, while glossy tiles look great in the bathroom.

Wood

This earthy look is great paired with crisp white walls and warm-coloured furnishings like pops of yellow and honey-toned couches. Place panels horizontal to heighten the sense of space or place vertically to widen a room.
