We’ve had a rare glimpse inside Hollywood sweetheart Jennifer Aniston’s Bel Air home and were left wanting more.

As one of the most recognisable women in show business, for all her celebrity, Jennifer Aniston will rarely invite close inspection of her personal life. We were left to speculate how she lived with her husband, actor and screenwriter Justin Theroux in the beautiful Bel Air home they shared with their three dogs and where Aniston continues to reside.

Earlier this year the actress invited Architectural Digest in for a complete tour and we could fall into every picture!

Having owned the property since 2011, Aniston immediately began to reimagine its interior design and decoration, despite the recent renovation to the 1965 property, designed by architect A. Quincy Jones.

“If I wasn’t an actress, I’d want to be a designer. I love the process,” Aniston told Architectural Digest.

“There’s something about picking out fabrics and finishes that feeds my soul.”

Working with interior designer Stephen Shadley, she returned the home to its modernist best, with iconic furniture pieces, natural finishes, timber and stone textures and an inviting warmth throughout. “Jen is drawn to wood, stone, and bronze, materials that have real substance and depth,” Shadley told Architectural Digest. “No matter how beautiful or glamorous something is, it has to be warm and inviting,” he said.

The results are stunning, with no detail overlooked and a welcoming, genuine sense of home evident and nothing overdone. Comfort was key, “Sexy is important, but comfort is essential,” said Aniston.

Sweeping vistas from the alfresco dining spaces overlook an elegant, carefully landscaped garden with sleek pool, surrounded by warm timber decking and cabana.

Allowing for generosity without flamboyance; the centerpiece of the master bathroom is a custom-made Calacatta marble bathtub, set alongside floor-to-ceiling windows that open fully on to a sunny, private manicured courtyard.

The office is anchored by a stately desk and a pair of heavy leather club chairs, “I feel extremely powerful when I sit at that desk—so powerful, in fact, that I’m almost never there,” the actress joked.

Aniston remains happy in the home it seems, despite the split with her husband in February this year which, she says has not left her broken-hearted. “There was a time when I thought there was something romantic about picking up and trotting off somewhere different every three months,” she told Architectural Digest. “Now I’m becoming more particular about the projects I take,” she says.
