Inspired by the high country of NSW, Frank’s work captures the mood and ever-changing spirit of the Australian bush.
“The images created may be an abstraction from the reality, but the visual language remains organic in the marks, forms, compositions and types of mixed media employed,” explains Frank.
“The use of carefully selected plant matter literally brings the natural world into the works. This is to emphasise the content as well as layering the marks with a 3D effect,” she says.
Deborah Frank's ‘High Country’ exhibition is from 9 to 27 August 2017 at Frances Keevil Gallery.
