When it comes to your homewares, it pays to think outside the box.

Just because society tells you a bed sheet should go on the bed, it doesn’t mean that is its only use.

Here’s a list of everyday items that can be used in new and different ways.

Bed sheet

Before rushing out to buy an expensive tablecloth, head to the linen closet and see if there’s a nice white sheet you can work with instead. Sheets can also be reworked into napkins.

Tablecloth

On the other hand, many tablecloths make great curtains.

Tea towel

Do you have a fancy t-towel that is a little too nice to be used washing dishes? Put it in a frame and you’ve got yourself a new wall hanging.

Rug

Bed heads can be expensive. Instead, hang a nice rug on the wall to create a new look for your bed.

Glassware

Mugs, glasses, carafes, whatever you’ve got in your cupboard can double as a vase for a simple flower arrangement.
