7 must-have buys from Big W’s new homewares collection

Increase cosiness without breaking the bank.

It’s that time of year again. The days are shorter, the air is cooler and suddenly you’ve got a craving to be surrounded by rich, warm hues and blankets that are just so soft you can’t help but wrap yourself up in them. Big W’s new autumn and winter homewares collection – which is the perfect combination of luxurious and affordable – couldn’t have arrived at a better time, and it’s already got the stamp of approval from some of Aussie design’s most beloved Instagram influencers, including The Block winners Mitch and Mark. “It’s great to see Big W dropping a collection that makes trends more accessible to Australian families,” say the duo.

Briellyn Turton, interior stylist and host of Australia’s Best House was also blown away by the collection, and was so inspired she decided to style up a gorgeous tablescape using key pieces from the range. “A good tablescape can completely transform your dining space and mood!”

Interior stylist Briellyn Turton created a relaxed tablescape using pieces from Big W’s new collection. “You can elevate your table without breaking the bank by simply adding elevated pieces to level up your decor,” she says. Stylish though it is, Big W’s curated autumn and winter collection’s most important feat is that it teaches us that seasonal decorating isn’t simply putting everything ‘summer themed’ into a box and starting over. It teaches us that seasonal decorating should be just the opposite, building upon all of the pieces you already own and love, simply by creating new opportunities for cosiness, comfort and nights rugged up on the sofa.

This can be achieved by re-styling your living room with a new feature cushion in a deep wintry shade (‘Thyme’ is one of the collections key new colourways) or by draping the foot of your bed with a touchable throw blanket you can just wrap yourself in on an extra chilly night. Gary Chen, senior homewares designer at Big W says the collection is designed to work in harmony with previous collection releases and that the new collection has been “designed with quality and affordability in mind, enabling Aussie families to refresh their home space with new-season styles for less.”

The new collection also includes plenty of cannisters and containers to get your pantry in Pinterest-worthy condition. Standouts include the Openook 6-piece spice jar set, Openook cookie jar and the 3-tier pantry shelf in white. (Credit: Big W)

Here are 7 stand out items from the collection we’re adding to cart.

6-piece spice jar set

$12

An organised pantry is the secret to better cooking. Firstly, you’ll know at a glance whether you’re missing an ingredient for a recipe, there’ll be less food waste, and you’ll be more likely to reach for tasty herbs rather than simply letting them collect dust at the back of a cupboard. This stylish and practical set of 6 spice jars will make your pantry look totally Pinterest-worthy while keeping all of your favourite herbs and spices fresh. Made from clear glass and bamboo.

04
