Desk
In this pretty Hamptons-inspired zone, interior designer Victoria Waters devised a wraparound desk with built-in Shaker-style cabinetry. “Details like the joinery and decorative elements make the room feel more ‘designed’ than your stock-standard study,” says Victoria. “When guests visit, everything can be hidden away and the desk becomes a dressing table.” Drawers keep files and office accessories in order, while cupboard doors conceal a printer and internet cables.
Shelving
Floating panels were chosen over a shelving unit, contributing both storage and display space. “Given the wall’s proximity to the room’s entrance, any more cabinetry would make the space feel closed in,” explains Victoria.
Furniture
An upholstered ‘Montana’ chair from La Maison is a great multifunctional choice – it’s comfortable, so perfect for extended use, yet handsome enough to be dressing-table ready. A chic print from Elements I Love, decorative jugglers’ pins also from La Maison and an Ikea table lamp dress up the space.
