Selling Houses Australia is back, coming out of the blocks strongly in the first week of Season 16, kicking off with a cracking episode in which hosts Wendy Moore and Dennis Scott transformed a dilapidated church into a tree changer’s dream home in the Hunter Valley.

Award-winning host and real estate expert Andrew Winter helps Trish realise the dreams of her beloved late husband for their country church.

With property prices and interest rates continuing to skyrocket this year, struggling homeowners face even greater challenges when attempting to transform homes into cash and move on with their lives. Season 16 sees the Selling Houses Australia team with their work cut out for them when they take on the renovation of a fresh batch of hard-to-sell houses, including rundown inner city dwellings, tired tiny cottages and outgrown family homes. Even a bus gets an overhaul this season!

The first renovation

Think of how many times you’ve walked through a country town, seen the potential of a rundown historic church and wondered how it would be to live inside. In the first episode, Wendy and Dennis got stuck straight into a top-to-toe makeover of a dilapidated country church, peeling back decades of paint and an overgrown garden to reveal the true potential of a beautiful heritage building. The transformation is miraculous!

Once again, Wendy and Dennis show how to renovate on a tight budget by clearing away clutter and combatting years of neglect with plenty of TLC to create light, bright spaces that celebrate historic architecture and showcase a potential new lifestyle for prospective buyers.

We are hooked, and looking forward to more transformations like this as the season unfolds.
