Airbnb has taken luxury listings to another level, with the inclusion of a 300-year-old royal palace in India.
From November 23, the City Palace of Jaipur will be open to guests for the rather princely sum of $11,594.33 a night.
The residence was built in 1727 and is still home to the city’s royal family today. Guests of the palace have included Princess Diana, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Clinton and Jackie Kennedy.
The room available for booking is the Gudliya Suite, which features a lounge, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom private, indoor swimming pool and personal butler.
His Highness Maharaja Padmanabh Singh, the 21-year-old monarch of Jaipur, is the host.
“I am thrilled that my family and I are partnering with Airbnb to bring the splendor of Rajasthan to life for travelers from around the world,” he said in a statement.
“My own travels with Airbnb have made me feel very welcome in new cities and cultures, and I am happy that the experience of quintessential Indian hospitality will be shared with others.”
Guests of the Palace will be chauffeur-driven from the airport to the Palace, where they will be greeting by their own personal butler.
A member of the royal staff will also be assigned to escort guests on a private shopping tour of Pink City’s retail treasures.
Guests will also be treated to two curated gourmet experiences: breakfast and dinner, at City Palace’s in-house restaurant, Baradari.
The proceeds of each booking will go to the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting rural women and people of Rajasthan.
The suite already appears to be heavily booked out, however there are a few dates left over the coming months.
