It’s fun, easy, and there will be meatballs involved…
The who’s who of IKEA Sweden are in Australia for a behind-the-scenes visit and they’re giving away furniture at the end of their stay!
Get yourself out in the Sydney winter sunshine and down to MCA’s Foundation Hall in Circular Quay to visit IKEA’s Democratic Design Exhibition.
Fresh from Sweden and running over three days until Wednesday 29th August, the program includes panel discussions with celebrities and a whole offering behind the scenes of the latest IKEA research, technology and product design.
As we head into the future, IKEA continues to invest in research on how our lives will look in the home and what part technology will play within the mix. The Democratic Design Days showcase includes products we can look forward to, concepts in development and never before seen prototypes on the floor – including Part 2 of Tom Dixon’s DELAKTIG collaboration range, shipped directly from Sweden for three days only.
With an entire program of events open to the public, including discussion panels headed by IKEA’s Head of Design Marcus Engman, gaming meets, cocktails and a pop-up Meatball Restaurant (with all proceeds going to Foodbank), it all culminates in a (dis)assembly party on Wednesday night where you can roll up your sleeves and help IKEA bump out the exhibition. The best part? All of the furniture will be up for grabs at the end – for free!
All you have to do is snap and post your favourite IKEA products from the night for the chance to take it home.
