Media personality Phoebe Burgess is selling her picturesque villa in New South Wales’ Southern Highlands, four years after she set up house during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The property served as Burgess’ escape from city life, while also marking a new chapter in her independence after the end of her marriage to rugby player Sam Burgess. Speaking to Domain, Burgess described buying her first home for herself and the couple’s two children, Poppy, aged 8, and Billy, 6, as a “big step”.
Since then, the social media influencer has shared plenty of photos of the family enjoying their life at the property, from family Christmas on the patio to climbing trees in the garden.

However, as busy life returned to normal, Burgess’ dream of renovating the home never eventuated. After leasing the property, Burgess has finally decided to sell, explaining, “We are a single-income family, completely, which is why I’m selling, which does break my heart.”

Nabbing the four-bedder for $1.7 million in 2021, the property known as ‘Acre Hill’ is now headed for auction with an asking price of $1.9 million.
Inside Phoebe Burgess’ Burradoo Villa
Sitting on four hectares of land, Acre Hill offers a taste of provincial charm in semi-rural NSW. The earth-toned villa is secluded at the end of a winding, tree-lined driveway. Set among paved patios, hedged boundaries separate the home and its outdoor entertaining areas from rolling green lawns and trees beyond.

Boasting the best of country living—including a pony paddock and sprawling gardens—the property is also mere minutes away from the cosmopolitan amenities of Bowral.
“It’s like a mini farm in the middle of this incredibly beautiful, highly sought-after land,” Burgess told Domain. “There’s a bore, there’s gardening, there are chooks, and then you can change in an instant and be out the door to some of the best schools in Australia, or to eat at one of the amazing cafes or restaurants.”

Indoors, the house offers open space living, dining and kitchen areas, with views out to your own Southern Highlands Eden.
While four well-sized bedrooms sit on the upper level, the ground floor has an additional study and sitting room for work or recreation. A Smeg oven and six-burner gas stove will also appeal to those making use of the home’s generous kitchen.

A generous laundry and mudroom is the bridge between inner and outer worlds. The perfect family home, Burgess describes its accompanying lifestyle of chook-feeding and fairy garden exploration as “busy in the most wholesome way.” The property’s real estate agents, Atlas Southern Highlands, also noted the potential for building a tennis court or pool on the spacious grounds.

With wood-fired heating in the living area, the cosy atmospheric charm of this Highlands retreat is complete.
