About Home Beautiful
There’s no place like Home Beautiful.
Connecting homes and hearts for 100 years, Home Beautiful is the most established and respected premium home improvement magazine in Australia.
Tucked within our pages, you’ll find renovation advice, decorating tips, outdoor inspiration and even our favourite shopping recommendations that will make your home truly beautiful. Of course, we can’t forget about the much-loved home tours that form the heart and soul of our magazine.
But, without the powerful team behind Home Beautiful, none of this would be possible…
Meet the Home Beautiful team

Together, the team has more than 50 years of experience writing (and dreaming) about everything homes. From editor Elle’s renovation diary to Diana’s floristry tips and Alice’s incredible gift guides, our experts have dedicated their career to helping turn houses into homes.

Elle Lovelock, Editor-in-Chief
Elle started her journalism career 20 years ago on Belle and since then has worked on titles such as Australian Gourmet Traveller, Australian House & Garden and Real Living before becoming editor-in-chief of Home Beautiful. She is an interior design and lifestyle specialist with a penchant for colour palettes and a knack for spotting the next big thing in decorating.

Katrina Yaxley, Creative Director
Katrina has worked in media publishing for 20 years, including 15 years as art director on Australian House & Garden, before landing her dream job as creative director of Australian Home Beautiful. A multi-disciplinary graphic designer, Katrina works across print, digital, social and video content, and has designed five top-selling coffee table books. Katrina’s knowledge of interiors and eye for spotting trends make her one of the industry’s most respected creatives.

Diana Moore, Digital Editor
Content expert, florist and interior decorator Diana Moore has been passionate about helping others make the perfect home ever since she moved into her own. With over 20 years as a florist and more than 10 years specialising in interior decorating, design, and retail, Diana is a firm believer in making the best of what you have in front of you. From transforming her local bar into a space reminiscent of your best friend’s lounge room, to spontaneously revamping people’s bookshelves, Diana captures the essence of what she’s long promoted in homes – make it your own.

Rebecca Hooton, Managing Editor
Rebecca has 17 years of experience in the magazine industry. Currently the managing editor of Home Beautiful, she worked as an intern at Cleo while completing a Bachelor of Communication at Western Sydney University. Following that, Rebecca wrote for and edited copy at titles such as Dolly, before becoming the features editor at Cosmopolitan Australia. She’s since had features in publications such as ELLE Australia, and has written for Country Style and Inside Out. You’ll most likely find her manifesting a cottage in the Cotswolds or watching Bluey (with or without her kids).

Brittany Smith, Category Editor
Category editor Brittany Smith has had a passion for interiors since she was a child when she watched home improvement shows with her mum and sister. While print media has been Brittany’s bread and butter for more than a decade, the fast-paced world of digital journalism now sees her with feet firmly in both camps at Home Beautiful, where she combines the two with an eye for trends and hot topics, plus a commitment to timeless style. A Virgo with a knack for giving unsolicited advice, she’s been known to rearrange cabinets and alphabetise spice racks for loved ones in her mission to help others discover their own perfect home.

Kate Barber, Senior Copy Editor
Kate has known she wanted to be a writer ever since she was a kid, producing reams of stories and finding joy in perfecting her spelling. What she didn’t know then was that it would lead to meeting all sorts of interesting people and a lifetime of learning. She studied communications at Western Sydney University and has been a sub-editor and writer for over 20 years, working on various magazine titles, including Vogue Living, Gardening Australia, and Marie Claire. She currently writes for Home Beautiful. When she’s not writing, you’ll find her at the markets picking up her latest ceramic piece for her home.

Julia Fairley, Senior Copy Editor
Julia Fairley’s passion for interiors and architecture first sparked when she began studying interior architecture in 2002, and since then, she has been entirely hooked. She completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English at UNSW, which helped her combine her love of homes with the stories behind them. Julia began her career as a journalist and sub-editor over 15 years ago and is currently senior copy editor at Home Beautiful, where she regularly has ‘pinch me’ moments with the thrilling opportunities to take a deep dive into Australia’s trailblazing world of interiors. Previously, Julia wrote for Real Living magazine and was a journalist and chief sub editor at Houzz Australia and New Zealand. She loves working in glossy magazines and digital media alike. Julia has never met a home she doesn’t want to style, and recently became an accidental gardener… to everyone’s surprise.

Teneal Zuvela, Senior Content Producer
Teneal has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Cultural Studies from The University of Western Australia. After university, Teneal began her career in lifestyle journalism and has written for publications including Apartment Therapy, SBS Food, Fashion Journal, marie claire and ELLE Australia. Now based in Sydney, Teneal gets to write about her love of interiors and décor for Home Beautiful.

Emily Murray, Social Media Producer
As social media producer at Home Beautiful, there’s nothing Emily loves more than curating stunning content for our social channels, from Instagram to Pinterest and everything in between. As an avid interior lover, it was long Emily’s dream to work at Home Beautiful magazine, with the unfolding renovation of her own home sparking her journey. She has a wonderful instinct and thoughtfully captures the often unseen beauty behind the scenes – be it a home tour, decorating shoot or in the bucolic setting of her own backyard, where she tends chickens, potters among her vegetable garden and is joyfully raising her cherished family.

Alice Ierace, Art Director
London-born and raised, Home Beautiful art director Alice now lives on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Having started her career on The World of Interiors in London, Alice has worked for Harpers Bazaar, Elle, InStyle, Esquire, Belle… to name a few. Inspired by the Australian light and space, Alice is a lover of all design, be it fashion or interiors and when she’s not creating beautiful imagery for Home Beautiful, you’ll find her at the beach, or trawling her favourite online stores, filling her carts with aesthetically pleasing objects.

Paris Blanchfield, Shopping Editor
Paris is the shopping editor for Are Media’s homes and lifestyle vertical, where she navigates the overlap of design, lifestyle, and culture with a discerning eye and more active browser tabs than she’s willing to admit. Armed with over eight years of experience in writing and editorial (and an art history degree that she insists is less pretentious than it sounds), Paris approaches interiors with an editor’s precision and a critic’s eye, always looking for ways to pair aesthetics with functionality. Since launching her career in Aotearoa’s media scene, her bylines have appeared in the likes of Remix, Black Magazine, Sauce and Ensemble, where she developed a reputation for her astute and aesthetically informed insights. Now based in Sydney, her focus lies in helping readers cultivate dreamy living spaces and daily rituals through mindful shopping.

Rachel Weisz, Shopping Content Producer
An experienced content writer and social media editor, Rachel completed a Bachelor of Communication and Media at the University of Wollongong, majoring in Digital and Social Media. She started her omnichannel media career interning at Vogue and InStyle, and has also written for GQ, Vogue Living, Fashion Journal and Stellar – News Corp’s Sunday lifestyle and fashion title. There, she held the role of social media producer following a brief stint in fashion marketing. Rachel brings a keen eye for design and luxury to her coverage of travel, homes and lifestyle for Gourmet Traveller, Home Beautiful, Homes To Love and BHG. When she’s not writing, she’s planning her next solo adventure (18 countries and counting), or finding inspiration in the pages of fashion history.
