A real studio apartment has just sold in the same townhouse complex that’s now known as the fictional new home of Carrie Bradshaw in And Just Like That…While the size and grandeur of Carrie’s new townhouse is a serious upgrade from the iconic brownstone that she resided in for the majority of Sex and the City series, the new studio just happens to resemble her old apartment a lot more than her new – and we don’t think she would mind the reason why.

While the real life 3 Gramercy Park West may have the same exterior as Carrie’s new townhouse, the garden-level unit is missing one important feature – a kitchen. But even without a kitchen – the studio has sold for an astounding US$900,000 (AU$1.3 million), according to the The Post.
But since Carrie famously only used her kitchen for storage, we can’t imagine she would have a problem with this missing feature.

According to The Post’s source, Core broker Emily Beare, the former owners removed the kitchen as part of a renovation project – but decided to sell the unit instead of continuing the renovation. This allowed the owners to sell the property at the same price they paid for it in 2020, leaving the kitchen decision in the hands of the new buyer.
Aside from the missing kitchen, the real unit does come with some very desirable features including high ceilings, four closets, wide plank floors and of course, a key to the exclusive inner city park known as Gramercy Park.

Whether you think it’s worth the incredible price or not, four closests and no kitchen certainly sounds like the right ratio for Carrie.
