Former AFL player Nic Natainui and his wife Brittany Bown have found a new home in the Perth beachside suburb of Sorrento. The recent property purchase follows the record $4.8 million sale of their inner-city Mt Lawley home in December last year.
The former West Coast Eagles player told The West Australian that the move was prompted by the family’s love of the ocean. “My family thought it would be good for the young ones to be close to the beach…we thought that, as a family, it’ll be good to spend time in the ocean,” he told the publication.
With their new Sorrento home being located just a five-minute walk away from the beach, the family are certainly attaining their dream of living by the ocean. Yet the home’s coastal location is only one part of the property’s charm. As the first home ever to be built on its street, the property boasts plenty of desirable mid-century character features including solid wood jarrah floorboards, bay windows, timber-clad wall pannelling, wooden mid-century style built-ins and a ledlight window.
While we would love to see the couple preserve the heritage integrity of the home, Perth Now reports that they are working on design plans for a new home on the block.
