We love getting styling and decorating ideas from beautiful spaces all around the globe. Moroccan-style restaurant Red O in Newport Beach, California is one such place.
The second you set foot in the exotic eatery, you feel like you’ve left the US and stepped inside a colourful, far away place. The entry features a tequila temple, which is over 4-metres high with walls of limestone niches reminiscent of a Turkish palace.
Behind, you’ll find the main bar, which is clad in textured leather panels above Mexican tiles. Custom designed lanterns from Morocco and a Chandelier along with a 100 handblown glass Hundi lanterns light the space.
In the main dining room, the ceiling is covered with ottoman-style lanterns with pierced brass-work bases that throw intricate shadows across the floor. At the centre of the room is a bouquet where exotic palms and tropical orchids are planted to add depth and interest to the room.
The terrace has a retractable ceiling and is clothed in custom-made concrete tiles inspired by the Alhambra palace in Spain. A roaring fireplace and panels of sheer drapery create romance and privacy.
