The team at Chiswick Woollahra know how to make merry and that’s exactly what they’ve done in creating this classy champagne cocktail as part of their ultimate summer menu. While many champagne cocktails use gin as the designated spirit, this recipe takes cues from the French. It makes use of French brandy, champagne and aromatic bitters, all balanced out with a touch of sugar. We all need a little sweetness in our life, after all. Rub oil from orange zest over the rim of your glass for a subtle depth of flavour.

One of the best things about the classic champagne cocktail is that, unlike many other cocktails, it doesn’t require strenuous shaking. Simply pour the ingredients into the glass and your work is finished. A cocktail that’s almost effortless to make yet incredibly delicious and refreshing? We’ll toast to that!
