Shelley Craft’s next renovation project has landed and it could be her biggest transformation yet

We can't wait to see what she'll do with this $3.45m Byron Bay property.

Shelley Craft appears to have found her next Byron Bay home renovation opportunity and, if her previous projects are anything to go by, this one could be another major transformation in the making.

Shelley, long-time host of The Block, and her husband Christian Sergiacomi, have reportedly purchased a Byron Bay home for $3.45 million, adding another project to their growing property portfolio and continuing their long-running connection with the Northern Rivers region. While the home itself already offers comfortable family living, it is the property’s future possibilities that are drawing attention.

Why Shelley Craft’s Byron Bay home has people talking

Set on a substantial 1010-square-metre block, the property currently includes a three-bedroom home with two bathrooms and generous indoor and outdoor living spaces. However, beyond what already exists sits something renovation lovers always look for: potential.

The listing reportedly highlighted opportunities for expansion and future development, making it an appealing prospect for buyers with vision. And few people seem to have built a stronger reputation for seeing beyond existing walls than Shelley and Christian.

From Pietra to a new Byron Bay project

For years, the pair have quietly carved out a name for themselves as passionate renovators, developing a style that balances warmth, liveability and a sense of escape. Rather than chasing trends for the sake of it, their homes have often leaned into a more timeless approach, creating spaces that feel designed to be lived in rather than simply photographed.

Their most recent renovation project, Pietra in Suffolk Park, quickly captured attention for exactly that reason.

The couple transformed what was once a fairly ordinary 1990s brick home into a Mediterranean-inspired retreat filled with natural stone, soft curves and earthy textures. Instead of embracing the more predictable coastal aesthetic often associated with Byron Bay, they shifted toward something warmer and more layered, drawing inspiration from relaxed Tuscan villas and European holiday homes.

Skylights flooded the interiors of the Byron Bay home, with natural light, while textured finishes, warm neutrals and custom details gave the home an effortless sense of luxury. The result felt polished without appearing overly styled, and distinctly different from many contemporary coastal homes.

“It’s Tuscan hillside villa meets beachside Byron Bay. Very grounded, very earthy, with a soft palette of creams and pinks.”

The renovation struck a chord with design lovers and buyers alike, with the property later reportedly selling for around $6.5 million.

Shelley Craft’s home history

But Shelley and Christian’s property story stretches back even further.

Before Pietra, the couple also built a modern coastal home near Belongil Beach, creating another high-profile Byron Bay residence that later sold for a reported $9 million. Over time, they have shown a pattern of identifying homes with strong foundations and reimagining them through a more personal lens.

That history is partly why curiosity around this latest purchase is already building.

For now, there is little indication of exactly what direction the new property may take. Whether the pair lean into another Mediterranean-inspired sanctuary, embrace a more contemporary coastal feel or take the project somewhere entirely unexpected remains to be seen.

But if there is one thing Shelley Craft’s renovation journey has consistently shown, it is that the most exciting part of a home often is not what it is now, but what it has the potential to become.
