Each of these little delightful characters has something in common…
Designed by kids, for kids, they just want to play with you!
With new research telling us the 4 out of 5 Australians say they don’t play enough with their kids, Ikea has taken matters into their own hands with a new campaign aimed at children and families, “Let’s Play for Change”.
Inviting children from all over the world, the homewares giant ran a design competition with entries open only to children, to design toys. First to be released in Australia today is “Foxy”, designed by Adelaide boy Joseph Kunhee. Seven-year-old Joseph beat more than 70,000 entries across the globe to be chosen as one of the winning 10 designs put into production.
The SAGOSKATT range will be sold across 400 stores, with proceeds being given to local charities. Naturally, each of the designs is unashamedly childlike and truly delightful but what’s so special is how faithfully Ikea has been to the original sketches in realising each toy in the real. These joyful characters can’t help but bring a smile to our faces and absolutely invite play.
Watch the video below to meet Joseph and learn a little more about “Foxy”.
Proceeds from sales of the SAGOSKATT soft toy range in Australia will be donated to Save the Children Australia.
This year’s IKEA soft toy drawing competition is underway now until 19th November in store and online. Click here for more information about the competition and IKEA’s initiatives to spark more play in families.
