Actress Drew Barrymore is selling her historic Westchester Country home after spending the last two years renovating the property. The actress and talk show house first purchased the circa-1747 property in 2024 for US$4.4 million (AU$6.4 million) and quickly began a large-scale renovation of the home.

“I walked in and I was, like, ‘I know my family’s been here. I know that I have to work on this house. I know that I’m supposed to be doing this,’” Barrymore told The Wall Street Journal. “It was like a strange, spiritual calling.”

As the founder of the Beautiful by Drew homewares brand, Barrymore brought her demonstrated eye for design to the renovation of Westchester County property, where she refreshed the older home with thoughtful modern updates that still preserved the historic character of the space.

The property is made up of six bedrooms, with five of them being in the main house and one being in the seperate guest cottage. There’s also a beautiful dark-wood kitchen, sunny conservatory and a grand open-plan living and dining space with large picture windows and wooden beams. There’s also a swimming pool and poolhouse. “It’s really like being in your own personal park. There are tons of deer. There are pheasants, there are ducks, there are rabbits,” the actress told The Wall Street Journal.

Barrymore spends most of her time at her home in New York City and this property, along with her former Hamptons home was her place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Now that she is parting ways with both properties, we’re excited to see where her next holiday home will be.
