Dining room
Yellow ‘Chester’ chairs from Coco Republic and a futuristic Moooi ‘Raimond Zafu’ LED pendant light are dinner party talking points.
Kitchen
Lending an industrial feel to the cool and contemporary kitchen is a polished concrete island bench, which was created using the same Boral ‘Sandstone’ concrete as the floors, but ground back twice to reveal some of the aggregate. For a streamlined look, the couple chose recessed ceiling lights by Targetti, sleek handle-free drawer fronts and a stainless-steel benchtop and splashback for the galley bank of cabinetry. Kartell ‘Charles Ghost’ orange bar stools from Space and a Kartell ‘Moon’ fruit bowl inject vibrant personality.
Sitting room
This blend of old and new is on show in the front sitting room, where the original fireplace surround houses a new Heat & Glo gas fire. Walls in Dulux Lexicon Quarter provide a brisk white backdrop for art – a Penelope Metcalf painting, leased through Artbank, hangs above the fireplace – and to an elegant mix of furnishings: a ‘Wiltshire’ sofa with exotic Schumacher ‘Chiang Mai Dragon’ cushions, plus ‘Club’ armchairs in a geometric teal fabric, all from Coco Republic.
Master bedroom
Behind the bed, a wall of cabinetry – created by Homestyle Kitchens and finished in Eveneer timber veneer in Milkwood – effectively solved the home’s storage shortage, together with another full wall of cabinetry in white on the opposite wall.
Nursery
A wall decal (for similar, try Bel Bambino Kids) and a patchwork coverlet from Adairs bring sweetness and fun to the nursery, and set a soft, pastel palette. The white furniture – a cot and dresser by French children’s brand Jacadi – keeps the look light and bright.
Exterior
Sliding doors connect the courtyard with the downstairs living areas and lend the home a summer feel year-round. An external blind from Sunmaster is hidden above the doors, to reduce glare in the living room. Easy-to-maintain concrete flooring was laid through the kitchen and living room, and out to the courtyard for a seamless indoor/outdoor flow.
