Diane Keaton’s Pinterest home – the one that inspired her bestselling book The House That Pinterest Built – has officially found a buyer. After returning to the market several times and undergoing significant price reductions, the Pinterest-inspired property is now under contingent offer, signalling the end of one of Hollywood’s most closely watched celebrity home sales. The sale marks a poignant new chapter for the architectural masterpiece, which Keaton spent years designing and transforming into the ultimate expression of her signature style.
Fans of Diane Keaton’s distinctive design style also have a rare opportunity to own a piece of her creative world.
Following the actress’s death in October 2025, more than 550 items from her personal collection have been offered through a series of Bonhams auctions titled Diane Keaton: The Architecture of an Icon.
The sales feature everything from furniture and homewares sourced from her beloved Sullivan Canyon residence to artworks, books, film memorabilia and the signature hats that became synonymous with her personal style.
The collection offers a fascinating glimpse into her aesthetic, revealing how Keaton’s love of architecture, editing and storytelling extended far beyond the walls of her famous home.
“Diane Keaton was not simply a collector, but a consummate editor,” Anna Hicks, Bonhams’s US head of private and iconic collections, said in a release announcing Diane Keaton: The Architecture of an Icon on Monday morning.
While the house itself was recently withdrawn from the market after being listed for sale following Keaton’s passing, the auction gives admirers an intimate look at the objects, artworks and collected treasures that helped shape one of the most influential celebrity homes of the past decade.

For years actress and style maven Diane Keaton gave us a glimpse into the beautiful homes of her characters on the big screen. Then it became her turn to create the home of her dreams. The house, known as ‘The Home That Pinterest Built’ was first listed in March 2025 but was taken down just two weeks before the actress’s death in October. Two month’s on, the home has returned to the market for an asking price of $US26.9 million ($A41 million), according to Realtor.

It only seems fitting that we look back at the late actress’s iconic Pinterest home again.
Hands up who’s journeyed with celebrated actor Diane Keaton as she has played the role of fabulous women living in fabulous houses – As Good As It Gets, The Family Stone, Something’s Gotta Give and of course, Manhattan, to name a few. The homes in many of these movies have piqued our interest and stimulated interior decorating trends across the world. Hamptons style, anyone??
It seems fitting then that when she decided she wanted to build her own home, like so many of us, Keaton looked to Pinterest for inspiration. There she found an endless feast of stimulus – advice, case studies – styles she didn’t know existed – new things to explore and incorporate into her plans and of course, countless images to arouse her motivation.
Once her research process was underway, Keaton collected hundreds of images to draw inspiration from to build and decorate her dream home, taking notes as she went and documenting the process. The result was not only the home of her dreams, but a beautiful book to illustrate and navigate us through her journey.
