Inspirational bedroom and bathroom makeover

In this pretty bedroom, the walls were refreshed with Dulux Grand Piano, with trims, skirting, windows and doorways highlighted in Dulux Stowe White. French provincial-style pieces in muted hues, all from Gaudion Furniture, imbue the room with elegance. In line with the feminine scheme, soft white Linen & Moore bedlinen is teamed with taupe sheets and pretty dragonfly-patterned pillowcases. The handsome lines of the ‘Sophia’ bedhead, also from Gaudion Furniture, deliver a luxurious feel.

Sleek plantation shutters from Inside Edge, painted in Dulux Stowe White, replaced the old, heavy-duty curtains which hid half the bay window, blocking light and making the room appear smaller. Now bright and airy, the generous room has a new window seat to fully utilise the curved space. It is covered in ‘Chelsea Stripe’ cotton fabric, with complementary cushions, all from Westbury Textiles.

The door between the master bedroom and ensuite was removed to free up space in the compact bathroom. Soft cream wall tiles and muted grey floor files were chosen to echo the colour scheme in the adjoining bedroom, visually blending the two zones.

The dated ensuite was brought back to life with Shaker-style cabinets by Cabinet Smith, large-format floor tiles and glossy alabaster wall tiles. To enhance the sense of space, a traditional shower cubicle was traded for an open wet-room style shower, with tapware from Streamline products. The plantation shutters match the ones in the bedroom.

A semi-recessed Caroma ‘Liano’ basin and Zucchetti ‘Bellagio’ tapware free up counter space on the honed Calacatta marble vanity.
