House Rules 2017: HB’s interpretation of NSW House Rule “Watery colour palette”

This sophisticated and tranquil master bedroom suite features walls covered in textured Phillip Jeffries wallpaper and a custom-made headboard, designed by Atticus & Milo and covered in natural linen. The bed is layered in cushions in sea glass hues and finished with a light-as-a-feather throw from Safari Living. Comfy corners are a perfect spot to style a room to a colour brief. Pretty cushions take cues from ocean artworks, with sandy textures applied to armchair upholstery. 

Artwork can add a burst of colour to an otherwise neutral scheme, taking the whole room to another level. Decorate with a collection of objects that are at once meaningful and within the tonal range of the room scheme.

Shades of blue and natural textures against a base of warm neutrals illustrate how a coastal interior can be subtle and elegant. Natural fibres are layered in a round ‘Zinnia Weave’ rug from Armadillo & Co over sisal flooring from International Floorcoverings.
